Unexpected Growth

Unexpected Growth

As a kid, I remember coming home from school with a milk carton and some seeds growing in them. What a brilliant idea to get children interested early on in growth, nurturing, how taking care of something requires hard work and patience.

In the last months during the pandemic, I have found the same great pleasure in watching the strawberries grow on my balcony or plants that I thought were going to die come back to life.

Most leaders I work with are interested in growth. But I would gently remind them to not just focus their attention on the plants that will grow whether you water them or not, almost anywhere.

Find the unexpected places of growth - something growing through a crack in the sidewalk, at the edge of a cliff and nurture, have patience and be enriched by the fruits of your labor.
